Default Glasspacks

Ive gone through so many mufflers trying to find the right one, i originally had glasspacks and loved them but had to get a new exhaust system. I want to go back to glasspacks but I want some opinions on what sounds the best, I basically want something that sounds like STRAIGHT PIPES, i may just end up doing that. I got a 289 with aftermarket intake manifold and bigger 4bbl carb. Ive been through the sound clips and i know people post about this all the time.

mine are called "blue streak" glass packs, don't know if they are still around but they are nice. I've heard a lot of good things about Cherry Bombs and Purple Hornies so I'm sure either of those would be great for what you're trying to achieve.

they have those electric turn downs (i think thats what they are called) so when you open it, it runs it straight pipe. then closed it is back to exhaust

they're called electric cut outs i believe, and what I think they do is open it up to just open headers, bypassing the whole exhaust system. Maybe they can be placed further down the system to make it cut out to straight pipes, but I"ve seen them specifically made to attach to the headers.

yeah those are the ones, could always put on a quiet exhaust for sneaking around, then open it to headers when you want

ya, I would go with electric exhaust cutouts. Its like open headers at the touch of a button. other then that, I personally like the sound of purple hornies.

Glass packs and spintech are the only mufflers ill ever use.Electric cut outs are a waste of money 6 months to a year they rust shut for you.
