i have a 1968 mustang fastback with a c4 the trans is not origanally for a mustang or for that year. How do i figure out what year the trans is from? and if there is a number on the trans is there a website with listings like that

where exactly would i look to find the casting number on the trans i found the one for the bell housing but that isa different bellhousing. any help will be nice
