Default Custom Headers- DONT FIT

I am furious... I just spent $700 on a set of Ford Powertrain custom headers made for T5 cable clutch setups... The passanger side hits on the motor mount and doesnt allow it to bolt up;How is this possible; If I spend that much freakin money on something I damn well expect it to fit.

So now I either get to bang on my brand new headers with a freaking hammer, orsendthem back and have them somehowfix them.

I'd send them back and make sure they give you a shipping label so it doesn't cost anything! Thats some BS if they advertise it as being for your model with that setup.

Yeah, 7 bills for a set of headers that don't fit? Afraid I'd have to plant the flag on that hill and make a serious stand.

Don't beat them man. You will never forgive yourself and the ringing of the hammer beating your headers senseless will haunt you to your grave.

Thats sucks.

dont panic...its possible they sent the wrong one for that side.
does the d/s fit ok?

how far away from you are they?

are you sure they wont fit or are you just having trouble getting them into place? The reason i ask is that my Falcon custom headers i have to drop steering arm to get them in but once in they are ok. You may have to lift an engine mount or similar creative moves to get them in. If this has all been tried then i apologise

Yours is the first complaint I've ever heard about FPA. I'd definitely call them and (calmly) explain the situation. I'm sure they'd be glad to work with you to resolve the problem.

'technically' they aren't custom unless they came out an measured your ride to make them

Just call up FPA they make a good product and this is the first complaint I have heard about them, I have a feeling they will take care of this for you. If they do let us know....if they don't...let us know.

+1 for positive feedback regarding FPA. Talk to them before saying anything bad about them. Hopefully they will make it right. I would imagine it would be difficult at best to manufacture headers that involve different engines and components that were never offered on these cars from the factory. The FPA headers I got for my aluminum 427 tunnel port in a 68 fastback fit great with no clearance problems.

I got it figured out... The header was hitting on the my urethane motor mount. I had to grind the mount dow na bit but I managed to get them to fit.
