Default Another Insurance question

I know most of you go with collector's car insurance, but do some of you have your classic on your regular insurance as well (double coverage). Is that even legit? I ask because I want to be able to drive my Mustang whenever and wherever I want, but it seems the classic insurance limits that. But on the other side, my regular insurance says they base the value of the car based on it MSRP - 40 years of depreciation if it was ever totalled. Won't that make the value close to,ummm $0.0001?

Has anyone had any issues dealing with a classic insurer when you had an incident?

Thanks

i just went through my usual insurance carrier. My policy covers my 69 just like a normal car (no restrictions). Full coverage is $128 a year.

Yes but how much are they going to give you if your car gets stolen?

if you have a professional appraisal done, AAA Michigan gives you full coverage and at the agreed value. My insurance for my 70 is $160 for a year (driven in summer, stored in winter) and the agreed appraisal is $30,000 (also, it helps if your grandfather is a licensed appraisor )

Ours is on standard insurance, with an agreed value in case of damage. No problems here.

My value of a whopping $5,000 has me paying 60 bucks a month, minimal coverage.
