Default h\Help with a Shelby Scoop

I bought a Shelby Fibergalss scoop for my 66.
I think i have a good idea for the install. from what i know i should align it, cut the hole, drill and rivet the scoop to the hood.
Next i should fiberglass the seam and grind and finish.

Is that about it? I could use the assistance if anyone knows a better way or any tricks.

Thanks for everything.

B

do the scoop you bought have the flange to mold it in? if not id just bolt it one and cut out the hole.

with panel bonding adhesive preferably https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-11230-13700.aspx you wouldnt even need rivets with this stuff, then id glass on top of that to smooth it all out

because it is a fiberglass scoop and the hood is thin i heard that glass is the way to go. it will need to flex without craking.

If you use just body filler it will probably crack the first time it heats up and if not it will be soon after. The glass will allow it to take alot more abuse.
