It’s parked in a museum for crying out loud, so I doubt if he’s stupid. Even at $23K, if it’s in immaculate condition, it would be worth it.

Out of 607,568 mustangs made in 1966, there were only 12,520 Convertibles with pony interiors and even less when you through on the GT package. That'll make ya think???

Okay... Number one: there is NO SUCH THING as a numbers-matching early Mustang!!! End of story. And as for a Kenwood stereo - who cares? If it's a true factory GT convertible that's been restored within an inch of it's life - does it really matter what kind of sound system it has?

Secondly, the price: Either you're mistaken or it's some sort of scam. That car is NOT for sale for $2,300. $23,000 maybe. If you come back and respond that "yes, it is indeed only $2,300" - then you're either pulling our leg or are terribly gullible.

Not a trool.....just trying to get some information from the person who submitted it to the auction. As soon as they seen I was interested, they pulled the car off the auction. I think it is a scam. They said that they are from the Gramen Foundation and they help people from the tsunami in south Asia. They also said that actor Mathew Perry of Friends donated the car. They said that it is at Yahoo Central in New York. I have not been able to get any information from them or about them but they did approve me for their auction. I have searched the web for that foundation but closest I can come up with is Grameen Foundation in Washington DC. I even tried a reverse phone lookup on the fax number but nothing. I tried to lookup the address of where they want a Western Union wire transfer sent and nothing. They want it the check made out to an individual and not the foundation. Beside, I didn't think Yahoo had any storage places in New York.

If anyone has any information and especially in the New York city area, please let me know. You can e-mail me at glh2250@yahoo.com. I don't want to be taken by such a good deal.

Here is what they sent me in the first e-mail:

"If it sounds too good to be true......"

Especially the "three days maximum for payment" sounds fishy. And is this an approval to bid, not buy?

I would suggest a reply e-mail saying that you might be in NY on a business trip and could you come by and see the car. See what response you get.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!! If you send 2,300 dollars, you'll never see that or the car! Buyer beware!
Markstang has good advice......see how fast they make excuses when you want to see it in person!

I got a reply back Yahoo and they said they did not send anything to me and advised that it is a possible scam. Looks like it was too good to be true. I will be notifying that person informing them that I will be in the area and want to see the car. I'll let you all know how this unfolds.

I wouldn't waste any more time with it. It's an obvious scam, and not even a good one at that. Just remember that there is nothing free in this world, and there are no cherry 65 Mustang convertibles for sale at 2,300 in the real world.
