Default 1966 Reference Books - Technical Manuals

I'm new to this forum and new tothe "Classic Ford" world.
I just picked up a 1966 Convertible for my wife. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about this Mustang.
Could someone please suggest a few good reference books and/or technical manuals that break down the early Mustangs. I'm looking for information on original part casting numbers, codes, cars per plant production numbers via the VIN numbers time frames, option codes and description along withhow to tell if something was factory or installed at the dealership. (A/C option) These are a few examples on what types of booksI'm looking to buy.
I'm coming from a Corvette back round where everthing is documented and broken down.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Ken

if you are talking about details for your car there is good information available on line...look in the FAQ sticky up top of the classic forum page.

the key information is on the vin number and the door data plate (drivers side). the gold is finding a build sheet which may be taped up under the dash somewhere or on top the glove cpt insert or under the carpet.

for working on the car, a shop manual is well worth it. Fleabay. For restoration matters - search Tom Corcoran Mustangson Amazon
