Default RACING BELTS ON ORIGINAL SEATS

How can i make a set of 4 point racing seat belts work on the factory 70 mustang seats? It would work if i had a headrest but in the 70 model the seats are highback. I really dont want to make a 500-600 dollar investment in seats right now and the factory ones look pretty sharp. So is there a way to make the shoulder straps come over the backside of seat and secure them somehow to the back? I was thinkin about taking off the plastic cover in the back and fastening them to the frame of the seat somehow. Any suggestions? Thanks!

yeah. that would be pretty cool. well then on that note, whats a good cheap 4 point roll bar to put in just for daily driving. i dont need a full cage. where would i order something like that for a 70 coupe?

If its a street car anything over a 3 point seat belt is over kill. For a 4 point and up you need a roll bar/cage with a harness bar.And in most states a 4 point up ain't street legal.Unless your gonna do racing where you need a 4 point up just get a 3 point.

Short answer: no

Even if you do it with a roll bar it will not be as safe with stock seats. If you get in an accident the belts could slip, and the seat will still move so its not quite as safe anyways.

I would do 3 points

so basically in order to properly install 4 pt belts, you need a full cage. and some high back seats/aftermarket ones.

i personally am keeping my lap belts cause even with 3 point belts you can die.

our friend who is a cop was telling us he responded to a wreck on the freeway and there were 4 ppl in the car. 1 was not wearing any seat belt, he flew out and died. 1 was wearing a 3 point, he died from impact. 1 was wearing only lap belt, he died cause he got cut in half, and 1 was wearing only a shoulder belt, he died and got his melon chopped off [:'(].

True66gt people can die in a car wreck no matter what type of seat belts they wear and all there things safety wise.My older brother rolled a 87 grand am 9 times if he was wearing a seat belt the roof would have killed him it crushed down so far it broke the front seats. My point is its a car they never will be 100% safe no matter what you do to it.
