Default Hurst Comp Plus Shifter help

Anyone have a link, diagram or good description of how to disassemble and then reassemble one of these? A friend decided to tape the chrome handle and then bead blast the rest while I wasn't looking. [:@] Now, while it looks great, it of course grinds and crunches also. There is a nut on the front section that holds a bolt in along with a small plate. I can remove those but can't get the rest apart.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Rob

Anyone have any experience in rebuilding one and could share any pointers?

Yeah I've found that rebuild kits are available or about 150.00 to have Hurst do it. Haven't found an exploded view of it or anything detailing a rebuild procedure. Thanks though

I used to have an exploded view of one. I'll see if I can find it. You are looking for the 4 spd model right?

Ad, I have a pdf of the documents that came with my shifter. PM me with an email, so I can send them to you. I cannot post .pdfs here and the .gifs are too blurry.

All I could find was the same thing cowboy posted. I thought I had something with the shifter actually disassembled but I couldn't find it.

Sorry for the late reply.. just finished a 20 hour drive back home.

ahh thanks.. yeah I was after the shifter box disassembly.. ie the box at the base of the shifter. hehe the one the pic says to not dis-assemble . I spent some time last week looking online and haven't been able to find anything. Guess I'll just take lots of pics and hope I get everything back together correctly when its time comes.

Thanks for the posts though and I've added those to my docs collection.
