i found some heads off of a H.O. 1989 mustang for $100...anyone know anything about these heads and what kind of performance the offer? im trying to decide if i should get them

If you need heads. They're basically your run of the mill stock 302 heads. The 60's 289/302 heads are just as good if not better.

alright...thanks! i was hoping they would give me a little better performance but i guess i wont waste my money on them.

That's not true at all. E7 heads came with much better exhaust ports, which are the biggest bottleneck in stock heads. Granted, you're losing a fair amount of compression in the swap,but port wise they are an improvement over previous heads. They're not going to be as nice as GT40's or aftermarket heads, but there's still an improvement there.

They also had that huge lump hanging in them for the air injection. I just don't think it's worth spending time, effort and money to go from one stock head to another, unless it's GT40's.

The only real good thing about them is that they are suited for unleaded fuel.
With a little port clean up work they do make nice heads. I would prefer them over C9OE castings.
You would also have the benefit of a threaded rocker stud hole.
Offer $75 They are definately worth that.
