Pictures by "others"?
I guess I'm one of those old "fatslobs" who likes taking pics of other guys Mustangs....I like to get ideas as I'm doing the restoration.
I hope that one day my ride is in decent enough shape that people will want to take pics of it. I'd take it as a compliment.
I take this kind of like the woman who wears a really short skirt and extra low cut top, and then complaining because someone looks at her.....or does she just complain when an old "fat slob" looks at her? ...wouldn't know.
It would be nice if we could all stay young, thin and good lookingfor the rest of our lives, and always drive Mustangs (instead of having to get rid of them when adult life kicks in)....the world would be a better place.
BTW, I think your ride looks really nice. Like all of usyou mostly seem to see the imperfections inyour car, but to those who don't (or can't) own one, they are impressive machines that take them back to when they were young....back in the day when these weren't classics, they were just the cars that everyone drove everyday.
My .02.

personally i don't mind it but in these days you have to be careful with everything. you take pics, put them on the internet, people can figure out where you live and bam. stolen. it happens here in orlando all the time, but mostly with junkbox hondas and such, i hear about it on our other forum. people crying about their car stolen. they post 5000 pics on the forum, brag about what it has, people figure out where they live and or hang out and follow them home and get it later. i don't know, you can't be too careful about things anymore.
"you can't be too careful about things anymore. "
That was the thing that bugged me I guess, other than that I took it as a compliment.
Prefer myself however if people just look and or make a comment if they feel so led, somehow taking a picture just seemed "creepy".
Hell if the price was right I 'd sell the guy the car in a second and go find one that didn't need new floor pans

Would it have been different if the guy wasn't a fat slob? What if there were 2 or 3 hot chicks out there taking pics of your car, would you have reacted the same way? Taking a picture of someone's car, especially a car like yours, some may only see these in car shows, so it's really no big deal and it goes with the territory of owning an old classic. You should get used to it and take it as a compliment.

Im restoring my car because it is fun. I want to enjoy it, I want others to enjoy it. I was at a car show a while back, spoke with a REALLY nice guy about his 65 for about twenty minutes, having a great time. He said appreciated meeting me, and most of the people he had met there were kind of jackasses. We spoke for another ten minutes or so. I was pointing at something in the motor and as I was withdrawing my hand I briefly touched the fender. Immediately, he said " Hey, what do you think your doing?".
I couldn't help but tell myself that no matter much time and money and effort I put into my car to not forget this guy. He instantly became a ***** because of a slight smudge. I brushed the fender with my hand, didn't rest any weight. Give me a ****ing break. I never, ever, ever want to be that jackass-ish about my car.
If it's a dad and kid admiring your car in a public place, try to not let it get to you and enjoy their interest. Its another story if someone walks on your property or into your car port to take a picture.
