Default salvage car

Thinking about buying a salvage 69 Mustang coupe. There isn't any visible evidence of a wreck, so it may have just been pulled from a wrecking yard. The seller has no knowledge of the history.

I know most people advise to stay away, however, if I'm looking for a car to keep it may not be a bad buy, right?
600.00 for a running car.

Owning a classic salvage vehicle... hmmm..

any comments from the experts?

What parts are missing? How about rust? $600 bux is a steal if she runs and you are able to drive it.

I'd suggest going over it with a fine toothed comb and getting it. If it's complete and it turns out that it's not street worthy, you can at least part it out for what you paid for it.

Seeing as how 69 parts are hard to find, and expensive if you do find them, you could probably more than double your money if you decided to part it out. Geterdun.

A salvage car is only worth the sum total of it's parts. If you feel you have the time to part it out and there is enough good parts to make back your money then it is a totally safe investment. IF you can get it recertified and back on the road you get the car for a steel IF there is something that prevents the car from going back on the road at least you can sell the parts, get your money back and look for something else. I would say go for it, but check with your state laws first to see what roadblocks exist to recertify salvage.

Yeah, I forgot about that reregister thing with unregistered cars that have been junked. There is a way to get them re-registered in most states. Check with the DMV in your state.

Seems to be in good shape, California car, just dirty and a ragged interior.
I'm gonna call him back and try and look at it tomorrow, if he's still got it.
