salvage car
Thinking about buying a salvage 69 Mustang coupe. There isn't any visible evidence of a wreck, so it may have just been pulled from a wrecking yard. The seller has no knowledge of the history.
I know most people advise to stay away, however, if I'm looking for a car to keep it may not be a bad buy, right?
600.00 for a running car.
Owning a classic salvage vehicle... hmmm..
any comments from the experts?

A salvage car is only worth the sum total of it's parts. If you feel you have the time to part it out and there is enough good parts to make back your money then it is a totally safe investment. IF you can get it recertified and back on the road you get the car for a steel IF there is something that prevents the car from going back on the road at least you can sell the parts, get your money back and look for something else. I would say go for it, but check with your state laws first to see what roadblocks exist to recertify salvage.

Seems to be in good shape, California car, just dirty and a ragged interior.
I'm gonna call him back and try and look at it tomorrow, if he's still got it.

SO, did he still have it?
