Clutch location
I am looking for a pic of a hydraulic clutch in the bay of a 65. I am doing a conversion from an auto and am in the process of finishing my bay and want to make sure that I still have the hole for it. I went a little crazy welding holes shut to smooth out the bay and I may have filled it in.

There are knockouts in the 67 however none of them will work if you have a power break booster installed. If your going with power breaks then you'll have to drop it down further drilling new holes. Likely have the same issues on the 65. Weld them all shut and then locate where the hole needs to be and drill it out to fit.
I have power brakes. How much lower does the hole have to be? I haven't found a pedal assembly yet or purchased any of the components for the clutch to mock it up.
Low enough that I've been told by a few people here that I cant do a hydraulic clutch setup on our 67 due to the size of the power booster.
Anyways.. Car is currently stripped down and I put the break/clutch assembly in and pushed the break booster through the firewall. They are correct in that a Clutch Master Cylinder wouldn't fit in the stock (or available knockout holes). That said, if I modify the connecting point location on the clutch pedal it should fit fine. Took a few measurements and as long as the clutch master cylinder has a separate fluid reservoir it'll work.

I'm running hydraulic on my 67, no power brakes though. Mounted the m/c basically right on the hole for the mechanical linkage, and built a reenforcing plate. It's pretty tight with the Wilwood master cylinder for the clutch tucked up in that corner, but it's doable. I imagine it would be VERY difficult to fit with a power booster though.
how much difference is there between a 65 and a 67 though. I will just live with it the way it is unless someone says different about the 65 location. When I get my clutch I will fit it and if it has to be moved it is only a little bit of paint that I will have to redo. I will have to paint my flames on my firewall at a later date when I get the rest of the car done anyways.
