Default Pony Carburetors

Another near term fix, in addition to the Pertronix setup, appears to be a better carb for the I6. I've heard Pony Carbs talked about here and there, and a quick search of this forum shows some mentions, but no clear opinions. Anyone with any experience on the rebuilt 1100 from them?

cheers,
MrM

I know there are a lot of carbs out there that everyone raves about being the best, but for these old Ford engines, there is not a better carb than the Motorcraft. Now, that's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. As far as rebuilding, I would rather get a kit and do it myself. That way I have more control over the final adjustments.

I have a difficult time adjusting my attitude, much less my carb!

I'll keep studying, though, and thanks.

In that case, I would get a rebuilt Motorcraft carb from Pony. There are others out there, but Pony is one of the best.

I can speak from experience that Pony Carbs are a good choice. They test the carbs there before they ship. Hell, I didn't even have to adjust anything but the curb idle. I did get a 4300 for a 73 Mach 351 Clev but I would have to think they do the same quality work on everything.
