Default Gabriel Shocks?

Was just under my mustang and I pulled a sticker off of one of the front shocks. The label reads: Gabriel Red Ryder Gas. ...installed by PO...
Does anyone know anything about these particular shocks..I searched the internet and couldn't really find anything.. I suck at searching

Thanks.

"Red Ryders" were a line of gas charged shocks (if i recall correctly)made back in the 80s. If they're still working for you keep'em. If you want something better, try one of the new performance packages offered by the countless suppliers out there.

Autozone sells these shocks under the name Gabriel Guardian now. They are the same part number as the ones call Red Rider. They also have a lifetime warranty.

I just put new shocks on the front of my 67 and it also had the Red Riders on it. I bought the Gabriel Guardians and compared the two when I took the old ones off. I was really surprised to find the exact same part number.

I have the Gabriel Guardians on my 67. My front shocks were shot when we pulled them out. They were from Sears.

They were Gabriel's OE replacement shock model. They might have been valved a little stiffer than OE to compensate for suspension wear and tear, but not by enough to really make them handle any differently.

About the same target market as KYB GR-2 shocks are today, I"d guess.

I have Gabriel gason mine. I like em. Have the Gabriel air shocks on rear. Lifetime warranty. I put em on my son's 68 stang when we built it back in mid 90's. Used to use Monroes but kept blowing them. I got a set that I am going to return. They are probably 25 years old but I will get a new set of air shocks for them. they came on a stang we bought and replaced the shocks with new ones.
