Default Autozone again... Wrong PART!

WOW, this time I ordered the corect part, and got the box with the correct part number on it, but the part was wrong. I ordered the brake booster with the band around the booster, and got the crimped booster in the box.. I just cant win..

So Can I replace the banded booster with the crimped booster, will it mount and work the same?

Um, they should, but Im not 100% positive. Banded/crimpped is just how the 2 halves of the booster are mated together, so I don't see why that would effect how it fit as long as it has the correct bolt pattern on the booster. However, just be careful because that discrepancy could mean it is the the booster all together (ex: for an old Chevy) instead of just a crimpped booster (for a mustang) in a Banded booster box. So it may not even be for a Mustang.

Ye, I suggest a different parts store. They are the same booster though. The only difference is that one is rebuildable, one is not.

Im bringing it back a little later, I figured that If I were to just use this one it wouldnt match the numbers later down the road if I had to return it for a new one.

You and my grandfather are the same. Can't get the correct part from autozone. They keep sending him the wrong throwout bearing. Me and my dad actually have no trouble with them.

That's too bad. I personally haven't had a problem with wrong parts from autozone. But then again I haven't started buying parts for my Mustang there yet. I'm still on body work right now. I will be getting some stuff for it from there though in the not so near future. Parts for my late model cars hasn't been a problem for me at the Zone.
