Default Carb conversion question

I have been using this forum for a while and I want to start by thanking everyone for the great advice. However, I have come across a specific problem that I am hoping someone can help me with.

I have a 65' automatic vert and over that past few months have been doing some minor modifications. My problem is this: I converted the stock intake manifold and 2 barrel autolite to a Weiand Stealth intake and Holley 600cfm carb. When I reattached the linkages to the accelerator and trans kickdown I am unable to get them to meet. I understand that there is a height difference in the old and new manifolds but I am sure this is a common conversion and someone else has overcome this problem. Forgive me if I made a silly error in reassembly or something else ridiculous like that...I am self taught via tv, books, magazines and of course this forum. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic of my problem:
