Default Hidden antenna

I posted awhile back that I installed a new radio in the Mustang. The previous owner welded up the antenna hole and installed a internal antenna. This thing is awful. I can only pick up 2 decent stations and 1 more if I put my finger on the antenna. For obvious reasons I don't want to go cutting a hole in my Mustang just to put up a new antenna. Can anyone recommend a good internal antenna or a way to improve the signal of this antenna?

I'm not sure what you are using now, but my antenna is a thin wire, embedded in tape that goes along the perimeter of the windshield. I probably bought it at radio shack. I don't notice it, but some people have asked what it is. It works.

When I got my re-pop fenders, my passenger side didn't come drilled. I kept it that way to give the car the cleaner look. I too need to get a windshield antenna. Are there some better than others?

My body guy recommend I go to Car Toys and check out what they have. They do have ones that go around either the windshield or the back window for a more hidden look. That is what I plan on using. No reason to go cutting up your fenders to put one of those ugly things on.

sorry wrong place it was at texasmustang.com they have them there at $49.95. Don't know how good they work, haven't tried them or knowanybody who has used that antenna. Just realized you are asking for recomendations. Too bad I just painted my car 9 months ago and I didn't think about that.

Thanks guys. I'll check out Car Toys and Texasmustang for them. I believe some are better than others. My stock stereo in my monte can pick up a station 3 counties away where as this Kenwood barely picks up a station when I drive by it. I tested with the other Mustang's antenna and its got to be the lousy antenna.

I put mine under my center console. It's not the best but it works for now. When my electric fan goes on I can hear it through the radio.....I guess thats what I get for doing it myself. I think it's something to do with where I put the radio ground.
