Default RE: question

okay basic engine build up (assuming your stock)

-heads, cam, intake manifold, carb, duals(headers), electronic ignition,

suspension/drive train
-front discs
-some rear gears(3.55, 3.73 or if you want real accleration get 4.10s)

what kind of transmission do you have
and what rear end do you have.

how much money will determine what parts to get and when and what order you get them.

also what year is this motor?

guys im not good with 302s he says late model, didnt they change rockers in the 90s

yes i looked at them

but you said late model 302. 73 is not late model. they changed in the 80s.

73 is the same basic 302 since 67, obviously there are differences but its mostly the same.

what kind of trans/rear end do you have.

you most likely have an open end.

jack up the rear end and spin the wheels. if the other wheel spins opposite direction you have open end.

that needs to go for you to go fast.

you need to look at a differential swap or a 8.8 or 9 inch rear axle swap.

thats a great start.

three speed...well people have different opinions on that. i reccomend a T5 swap. find a T 5 manual out of a v8 ford and bolt it up to the engine. you will have to get a conversion kit from a company for 200 and youll have to have the driveshaft shortened by a shop.

but i think you can start on engine work. how much is your budget.
