Default 1967 mustang vins missing, where do I look?

I just bought a 67 mustang for $500. Its missing fenders, hood, grill and bumper. Its also missing the plate on the driver doors. It has the aprons but they are cut. The car was hitfrom the front. The radiator was damaged but the rebuilt 289 was not. They removed the front end body panels and but cut the aprons. Unfortunately, they where cuttoo far inand the numbers are gone. The suspension is good all it needsis a frontend and I'm gonnadrive it.The car is in really good shape. I dont have paperwork though. I want to know if I can find more vins somewhere on the car to get dmv paperwork. Anyone know if there are more numbers and where. I know I can probably find another mustang and take the front end off of that but I dont want to do that. I want ALL original.

The only other way would be if it had a buck tag or you found the build sheet.

If they cut both aprons where the VIN was stamped your probably out of luck. What happened to the title? Are you sure someone didn't use the VIN for another car?

Nobody mentioned the dash?
on my 1968 the VIN is on the passenger side dash... not sure which side it is on the 1967.

67's don't have a dash plate.

If you bought a 67 mustang with no vins on it (meaing they cut the vins off the driver and passenger side apron), you just boughta stolen car and/or one that you will not be able to register without doing something shady yourself.
What is on the title or did you not get a title?

Search the interior for a build sheet.

I completely agree and there's no way around it. Buck tags, build sheets, door tags, it doesn't matter. If the VIN has been cutoff of the aprons, you're screwed.

The easiest ILLEGAL way around it is to as you stated buy the front clip off of another '67 Mustang (that has a VIN and preferably a title) and graft it onto yours. Some people think there is nothing wrong with this. The federal government disagrees by enforcing a 10 year/$10,000 fine for each occurance of VIN tampering. Would you actually go to jail over this? Doubtful, but you can steal a car and not do time either, it still doesn't make okay to do so.

Can you not find a 67 donor car that has a clean vin and do a vin transfer legally?

Ah, "transferring" a VIN from one car to another is not something that can be done legally. There are no laws that allow this to be done.

It would be like you and me swapping SSN's, it's something that we can't do no matter how many lawyers are involved.

If someone has information to the contrary, by all means, please provide it.
