Default Engine induction

I am thinking of getting a 67-69 mustang. I would like a 289/302 with modern engine management and an aodtrans. Would it be better to convert the original engine or buy a 5.0 that already has it? Either way, can you still add a cam and headers with the computer controlled engine? Also, does the aod have its own computer and can you use a higher stall converter with it? The AOD has no computer. If you get a 67-69 with a V8, a 5.0L/EFI conversion is not that hard if you have some mechanical skills. You can add heads/cam to a computer controlled engine. There are plenty of people on this site that can help with the swap/conversion.
