okay i understand that there are no" 302s" in 67.
there are cars out there with special engines in them maybe special ordered. idk.
i saw a 67 gt coupe with a 302 in it with the verifying information.
there are no certainties with these cars.

Interesting. The 302 wasn't on the order sheet in 67, and wasn't an over-the-counteroption,so not sure how you'd get one. It would have to have been a really late 67. I still wouldn't believe it for sure unless I saw the Marti report.

but its a white 67 coupe with the GT package and a vinyl top. i met the guy at the silver springs show in ocala a year ago.
he showed my the pictures of his casting numbers, his build sheet and a letter from ford.
seems like alot of trouble to make up a story like that.
okay thats all i have, end post.
I have a 1968 coupe with a 289. It has a 289 block according to the casting numbers. It also has the 289 side insignia and the car is all original, never been apart.
I've decided to rebuild it and put a 302 crank and rods in since it's a lot cheaper to buy a set of new Ford/Scat/Eagle rods than it is to rebuild the old 289 rods.
I'll save the original crank and rods for a rainy day.

In 68 there was a lot of cross matching ofparts when these engines were being built. There was a strike at Ford that threw production behind and they scrambled to catch up with demand. There are many instances of 289's being built with 302 cast into the heads or lifter valleys. As stated previously they were phasing out the 289 and introducing the 302 and had to use the parts that were available at the time.
