Default Suspension, squak sound

So I am using this car as my general automobile learning center if you will. I have done a lot of work with the engine and exhaust and aesthetics, including interior and some trim. One thing I haven't done is suspension. Yes there has been some work done by Les Schuab, but I myself have not.

Any ways, my problem is, a couple nights ago my buddies and I were cruising around down town, and I started to here this squak sound almost like a screeching door but a deeper sound without the high pitch tone. I got out and was feeling the suspension. When pushing down and releasing and repeating this cycle on the drivers side front over the wheel well, the car didnt make any squak. But when doing the same thing a few times on the right it squeeked very bad. It was to the point that if you push down it was so stiff that you had to pull the car back up to remain at maximum height.

I figured this was the spring so I jacked the car and lubed it, but hey maybe I did it wrong, it didnt seem to help. The same problem still occurs.

Any ideas?

are you saying that when downward force was applied to the right front fender that the car did not spring back up to the original height after the force was removed?

how old is the suspension set up? bushings could be cracked/shatered (like mine ) making sounds, while the shocks/springs could be making the car sag..

I'd be more concernedover having to lift the car back up to normal ride height than the squak myself. Likely related, though it could be 2 seperate issues.

perhaps the shock blew and is locking up causing the car to squeak and to keep it from returning to normal ride hight.

Yeah Still dont get that having to lift the car up business....As if that spring isnt massive enough to lift the car back up??? Must be really shot.

jus tthrowing it out there. if the spring broke he might have al ready seen it, and the shock would keep concealed the problem.
