Lights from underneath?
So today I was at a car show at our local fair "Lake Fair" in Washington and there were numerous 60's mustangs, modified and stock. One modified rolled up a 68 coupe with a deep blue paint, nice looking tires and rims and white underglow. Now at first I was like hmm wtf. But then after seeing it across the day and watching it at night I was quite surprised at how nice it looked bouncing off the chrome.
Was just curious to see as to what people think of this due to the fact that me and my buddies and there dads all got into a big controversy over it.

sadly the polls don't work right now, but for my I would typically say no its a bad idea, it can just be tacky and is often associated with "rice"
but there are some exceptions where it does look good so I would have voted for "maybe"

normally no, but if the car looks good a matching color or white could make it different.
i have a set of green lights off of my old 2001 GT i might re use them on my 67 if i ever get bored.
maybe no underneath but inside my cab or other silly area just for fun.

Any ride with neon ANYWHERE is a Ricer (beer trucks omitted)
Any ride with undercarriage lighting is a Ricer.
I didn't make those up. I also don't really care about it. So do whatever.

That type of lighting is often seen on really cheesy cars where I live, so I say no.
One thing I do have, which is cool, are led tail lights that separate and sequential, a la T-Bird/Cougar. On a ´69 with 3 big bars you can see this effect from a ½ mile back.
Only the LED type should be used if you do this. The incandescent 3-bulb version runs so hot it could melt your lens if you´re in bumper-to-bumper traffic long enough.

David, nice Grande. ´69s rock.

i tend to disagree with "all"statements.
for example my dads friend had a black chevelle and he had a ver cool light system. at night you almost could not tell what the difference was, eventually you realized there was a faint glow coming from the wheel wells. it was very cool. it made the car look very different and tasteful
it was not ricer. it was so subtle you almost couldnt tell what the differnece was.

OK If ground effect lighting is subtle, it could be nice, but the ground effects lights here on many LA rigs are bright neon, matching the neon triple wiper blades and goofy wheel spinners.
Subtle is the operative word I guess.
