Monte carlo bar
that seems like a bit of over kill for working on a 6 dont you think?. Usually you only need a spreader bar if your working with a 351 or higher because of the weight on the front towers. Using a jack and reliving pressure would work just fine.

I made my own spreader bar to get mine wide enough to get mine on. Took a bit of spreading to get my brace and MC bar on too.(hammer only went so far)

but ANY car is going to start sagging after 40 years. i had a puny 289 and i had to do MAJOR work to get my export brace to fit. the 289 is not that much heavier. maybe 50lbs. my monte carlo bar went in perfect though.
i had mine set op on jacks for over a week. it didnt do anyhting. so i had to make a tool ^.
