Default Best motor setup

I just picked up a 68 mustang andI am trying to think of a good motor to put in it. Whats the best setup? I want a 4 speed, want to drive it everyday but be able to take it to the track inrun inthe 11-12. I was thinking of going with a 351 stroker maybe? wanted to know what you guys think would be the best setup for me.

ok i didn't read that you want in 11's... well, if you have a 289, i would get the paxton supercharger made spiciffly for 60's stangs, with some mild performance parts.

depends on you budget and how drivable you want it, you can build a stock cammed twin turbo 302 that pulls 11-12's that will be as fuel eficient as a stocker or better at least on the hwy or a blower but not as fuel efficent, a nice 347 or 351w will get you there too,but not as efficient you can also build a 393-408 stroker with a mild or custom cam and taller gears for economy that will get you there too.

Do you want smooth idle and massive power, turbo or 351 based stroker, do you want a racy idle and higher rpms 347-351w 351w if starting from scratch is better and stronger and if you want to grow in cubes you are set up to 428 ci. If you want a stick car dont bother with the 4 spd, get a 5 or 6 spd you will go faster and get better milage and top speed if you want it.

If you want cheap, good mileage and fast, a stock 5.0 shortblock (forged) balanced, AFR 165's or TW heads and 150 shot of N20, power on demand and fuel economy it would make about 350-390 hp + the n20 =500 hp with good traction 11's no problem and 20+ mpgs hwy easily even with the stock HO cam, dont forget OD trans makes a huge difference.
