window doesn't sit right
I got a new reproduction driver's side door and put my old guts in it, but I can't get the window to seal up against the roof in the quarter where it meets the other window (1968 coupe btw). I've been messing with it all day and got it to a point where you have to manually push the window in to get it to sit when the door is shut. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Did you put the felts in the door? The felts are the pieces that snap along the top edge of the door that remove water and keep the window glass from wobbling. It's been a long time since I swapped window guts , and when I did it I used an original donor door, but I recall that on a 70 you can adjust the bolts that hold the assembly. You have to have the felts in to make it right. Hope this helps. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
no i didn't have the felts in and they do make a difference, but they wouldn't make the difference I need. I was looking at some old doors I have and saw the problem, my regulator adjuster nut in the lower right hand corner that moves the window in and out was broke and put on wrong. I replaced it, adjusted what I needed and finished it off. Thanks for your reply.
