Default Buying Parts on eBay

Anybody have good or bad experiences getting parts via eBay? Notice a lot of vendors use it as a forum to sell. And the deals can be pretty good compared to some direct online parts stores.

Thoughts?

I've bought parts from ebay a good bit. Since I live out in the boonies, sometimes its alot easier to find something decent price on there and have it delivered to my doorstep, than to run into town and hit up acouple places to try to find something.

No taxes either...

i buy sometimes from eBay. For me it somestimes makes a huge difference in shipping to Europe as they usually ship via USPS.
If it's coming in that way then it sometimes comes in without customs adding duty and VAT

I look around for parts on eBay a lot. If I find a good deal I'll go with it. I bought my rear axle (8.8) off of eBay to go in my car, and got a smoking deal on it. Its a good place but be careful because I see things time and time again that can be bought from Jegs or Summit for less money after you add on the shipping. Also, I reccomend becoming a certified Paypal member because if omething happens and somebody tries to screw you, you are protected. I had some guy try to rip me off on an oil pan that didn't fit my car even though he said it would, and Paypal gave me my money back.

I just bought a battery tray yesterday on e-bay for just under $8 and they retail for about $12. Have also been looking at a couple of deals on floor pans that might save $20 or $30 that are on e-bay.

You can find deals but be careful. I have also seen folks buy things "just because it is on e-bay" they assume they are getting a good deal. Some of the stuff on e-bay is no cheaper then going direct to NDP, VCM, etc. You have to know your prices and what is or isn't a good deal. Never assume that just because it is on e-bay it is a good deal.

However, yes I have purchased several items on e-bay and gotten good deals on them. You just have to pick and choose. Sometimes you have to wait a while and keep watching to find a good deal on whatever you want / need.

Yea, it took me awhile to finally snag one but I got my 9" center for a steal.
3.25 4pin trac-loc, super clean and great ring wear, some new gaskets and backlash seems good for 320$..AND, the dude's wife was driving thru, so I didn't have to pay shipping or go pick it up

Also was happy with the original housing I bought. Was in great shape but I had it sandblasted, primed and painted, new studs installed, and shipped for 180$

I love Ebay. I had an Ebay store here in town, sold people junk on there for them. Ebay can be great so long as you watch who you buy from and all that.

I shop around, then I check eBay for the same item. If I find it, it's always cheaper (with shipping) than anywhere else. I've saved a boatload of cash over the last 8 years.

In many states, you can avoid sales tax if you purchase the item from a different state than the one you're in. Check the Seller's home state before you buy.

I buy and sell from eBay all the time...I purchased my stroker kit on eBay which included all the internals balanced. It has worked out great... If you get familiar with eBay it is a great place to buy and sell. I do however look on the mustang sites to make sure I am getting the best price... Always beware of shipping...
