OE FORD TOOLING VS REPRODUCTION
I'm pricing sheet metal parts (ie. hood fender radiator support) and want to hear what you got to say about this subject. Some people have told me not to buy repro. stuff because it doesn't fit. Whats your experience?
I have a 64 1/2 coupe that I'm doing. Not going for a factory original car, planning on putting A/C P/S GT wheels and rebuilding the 289 andC4 trans and GT exhaust pipes through the valiance. Give a GT look

I have bought and used both...
I can say this. With OE Ford Tooling stuff, it fits just as poorly now as it did from the factory....
Seriously though, I always like the OE stuff when I can get it. To me, it's worth the extra money for something that is not only a thicker, better quality metal, but is also, in most cases, American made... meaning American jobs... that's worth every penny to someone who has worked for Ford, and knows how dire the economy is because of a lack of American jobs..
If you have the money, go with OE. 9 times out of 10 its the better piece.

I have one OE fender and a repo one, buy the OE if you can, I have fixed the repo one twice. If you put any presser on the tops of the fender they dent. The OE one you can almost walk on it and no dent's.
