Default Fuel Sending Unit

Has anyone found a fuel sending unit that would work with the cars electrical connector, without trimming the rubber insulator? The senders I have received don't have a long enough electrical stud for the connector. In order to get the connector to actually reach the stud, I have to trim down the rubber insulator. I can see the difference when I match it to my old unit. Any companies out there that duplicate the original? Thanks in advance. Right now I am working on a 66, but have had the same experience with other models.
