i know its been asked,...exhaust size 2.25 or 2.5
You should be fine with either. I wish I would've done the 2.5 though when I had the 302 becausethat same 2.25exhaust from the 302is still on there now and I am sure it is hurting the 347 some.
the only reason the 2.5 conserns me is cause it is a convertible and i dont know how much clearnace i am going to have with that 2.5 piping running through the tunnel with the driveshaft

I have a modified 302 in my mustang and it had 3" exhaust on it. (overkill in my opinion) I decided to go with the 2.5" exhaust for 2 reasons.
1. I'd rather have a little more than not enough. (I'm also running flowmaster mufflers).
2. The 3" exhaust that was put on the car...the genius ran it under the rear axle.
Since the exhaust had a leak at the headers (broken at the flange and someone had tried to weld it before...) I went with some flowtech headers.
All in all when I do get it out of the shop it should run and sound better.

bolt on kits do not fit GTs and convertibles for two reasons,...
the kits are not made to exit the rear valance #1
and they do not fit convertibles cause the exhaust mid pipes have to run up in the tunnel of the driveshaft, cause there is a plate that runs across the bottom of the car,...

i just wanted to thank everyone for helping me make this decision, i just purchased a "bolt on" flowmaster system with 40 series mufflers with all 2.5 inch piping,...and some extra piping and bends, i can weld, so it shouldnt be to hard,..atleast i am hoping,...and ended up selling the new flowmaster mufflers i had to a friend for a great price,..so we are all happy in the end,..i just hope i have enough room in that tunnel,...
