I have a 65 mustang coupe. my friend crashed his 03 supercharged saleen and now i have a complete engine. I was sondering if there's a way to install it in my 65 mustang.

 

Anything can fit into anything.

So long as you have to patience to make room for it. And hooking it up wont be a blast.



What engines are those anyway?

 

Aren't those the modular motors? The 4.6 I think Nick.

 

Havent searched that hard. All I have found is that they are 4.6 SCed V8s.

it is similar to what evil eleanor has inhis car.

he has a DOHC motor which is four valves per cylinder

there are threads pertaining to this.

you will to cut out your shock towers, and use a custom MUstang II suspension with motor mounts. then you will need to modify your entire transmission tunnel to accomadate the largeer TKO 600 transmission, as well as changing the drive shaft.

its up to you.

 

Other than rearranging half the car.....of course you can use it

 

you also need the computer the accersory drives, the wiring harness the o2 sensors, and since this is a serious engine you need eiether a 8.8 a nine or a rebuilt 8

 

if you have the motor, go ahead and get the M2 front susp
it can be done

 

Yea just get a kit like the Mustang II suspension kit that allows you to shave the shock towers. Although I have heard that this makes the front end (weak structurally). So you would probably have to address this as well.

 

if you're going for power, speed or anything like that and are willing to modify the car as much as everyone is suggesting, I would go with a 460 or 429 (possibly Boss 429 if you can get one). These big blocks are so easy to build horsepower with. They are aroung 365 stock and a mild build will gve you 450 horsepower for sure. and a BB stroker is just out of this world, the torque output of em is amazing. you can pick up 460s easy out of old lincolns and stuff from junkyards. This setup would probably be easier than the supercharged motor and more nostalgic or classic looking with some muscle

but if you like that motor and since you have it, go for it.
