Glasspacks? anyone use them?
My shop teacher said check into them cause they are cheaper (which is not issue at all) and i love the sound... but I also would like to have the Flowmaster 40's. But can you run cherry bombs with a x pipe and what size pipe and cherry bombs should i use.
you can run an x pipe with flows too. i think mine are maybe 12inch iirc?
i might go with flows in the future im thinking about using the single chamber flows ftw

Glasspacks were extremely popular in the late sixties/early seventies. My friend just put a pair on a '63 Riviera for nostalgia reasons. They have a 'farty,' old school sound.
They are cheap and compact, and they are LOUD if you put your foot in it.
I love them- on other people's cars.

www.classicchambered.com These are straight-through like glasspacks but don't have sound deadener that blows out. I put one on my truck as a resonator but had to drive with just it out to a friends shop. It was mellow and smooth sounding (300 I6) and a bit tractor-ish. Had I known what it would sound like, I would have gotten a longer one and run without another muffler.
I run glasspacks straight out the side. You won't get a sound like dumped glasspacks with any other muffler. I love them and the sound they produce is simply awesome. However, I tend to build up a lot of back pressure because of the stock manifold to dumped glasspacks. I'm thinking about running some flowmasters out the back or just throwing some headers on there.
For a cheap and quick "muffler" go with glasspacks, especially if you like the sound maybe you will want to swap it out later.

Your teachers right, cherry bombs are $15 bucks at most auto parts stores. They are also know as the poor mans exhaust. They sound really old skool if you like wet loud farts!

If a v8 sounds like a farty import somethings really wrong with your car.Glass packs are nice they do get louder with age after the fiberglass in them burns out.Cherry bomb does have a new muffler called the vortex its a mix of a chambered and flow through muffler i haven't used one yet. Also look at a spintech muffler they are chambered but also sound great.
