Default How much

Ok guys, how much would you realistically pay for a 1974 302 complete engine. I'll post pictures to show you all. I had to use a few bolts, the alternator bracket, fuel pump, oil pickup, the spring off the carb and bracket it connects to on the intake. Other than that it is all complete. It ran perfectly fine. Also that is a Holley 600cfm carb. If anyone is interested in buying that let me know, or its going with the engine. Like I said, just let me know how much is a good price for it, I don't know and someone is interested in it only he's waiting for me to cut my own fate.

If I really needed a 302 motor, I'd pay around $200 for it. Which is about what I paid for the third spare 302 I have in my shop right now.... but it came with the Edelbrock intake and Holly 600.

.... and your point?

A new pair of shoes will run you $75... but how much are you willing to pay for a used pair?

I've dealt with enough "slightly used" carbuerators to know they're not worth much. Same goes for engines.

The selling price is really going to depend on a lot of things. Your location, what a perspective buyer wants to pay, what you want for it, how many miles on it, has it been rebuilt and how long ago and any upgrades/mods done to it. The rebuilt 289 (Edelbrock intake, cam, 600 carb) I have is likely worth 100 to maybe 300 down in Jersey where I live but up here in Nova Scotia, Canada I've had a few offers of 1000.00 for it. Very hard to find a running 289 up here it seems.

In the US I'd likely tell the guy 500.00, let him counter and see if you can come to an agreement in the middle.
