T5 Transmission Upgrade
Can anyone tell me by looking at this link if this particular T5 transmission will work in a 1965 inline six cylinder w/ a 200ci engine and if so, what else will I need to complete the conversion?

it would work if you changed the pilot bearing to one fromi THINK a mazda. that and youd need a T5 bell/cable clutch set up. OR an adapter plate for the mustang bell housing. (heard people have some issues related to these)
and if you everwent to anV8, that trans would be kinda weak.
i gotta say, the price for that seems quitehigh. nobell housing too.for that kind of money, you could pretty much get a TKO trans, which is tough as hell.

The pilot bearing is one from an alternator.
Part: BRG 62022RSJ
Alternator Bearing I.D. : 0.5906"
Alternator Bearing O.D. : 1.3780"
Alternator Bearing Width : 0.4331"
Check this link for a swap someone did with the exact same tranny. http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50854
I have the same setup as the other person in that thread. It can be done with the smaller clutch that you might have but you'd have to check to see if yours is a 9" or the smaller 8.5" clutch.
You need to check the part# of the bellhouse to see if it is pre '67.
Check with Modern Driveline for some swap parts.
You will need an adapter plate, crossmember, speedo cable with end, shifter, and might need to cut your drive shaft.
With the 4cyl T5 you would not want a rear end ratio higher than 3.20 as the 1st gear becomes pretty much unusable. The 1st gear in the 4 cyl T5 is alot higher than the V8 version. I have 3.00 rear in mine and it seems good to me. I have good take off but don't have to shift into second too fast.
