Ive got a brake pedal lock, also, my car is in primer with racing stripes so it looks like a crappy car. It just so happens to be zero rust and mechanically 90% there. Hiding in plain sight.

Coil wire &/or rotor cap is the easiest.

Besides all the car tricks.Add a motion detector to a light on the front of your house. Avail at Lowes/Home depot.

Nothing will stop a pro. Sleep well.

Well i have a small remote house alarm i was thinking of installing for kicks... it runs on a 9v and if something happened to it in my driveway an alarm would go off in my room... it wouldnt be hard to install as far as i can tell...

i think im gonna look into those beake pedal locks as it seams like the easiest to do and one of the hardest to deal with....

i also might just buy a shotgun and sleep in the old girl like andrewmp6 says but its gonna be hard for me being 6' 200 ibs

suburban propane makes a solenoid cutoff for LP and gasoline. when there is no power going to it fuel can not pass through it...Figure it out from there.

At home, it stays locked in a garage, and Im in the middle of nowhereville, so I don't have much to worry about here. However, WHen I go out in it, I alwyas try to keep the front wheels turned with the steering wheel locked, windows up, and alarm set. Its a major PITA to take off the coil wire since I have an MSD distributor with the wire hold down on it, so I just leave it on.

what are the best practical ways to protect my cars???
As Tom stated, insurance.

The very first Mustang I built was stolen right out from under me while I was playing dartsat a local bar. The car was never found. The insurance check allowed me to buy two more Mustangs and completely build one of them into an even nicer car.

If a device would help you sleep better, I use two. Viper with motion detector and paging system and MircoTrak. The Viper system is fairly common and although the car is pretty hard to sneak up on, it can be overcome. The MicroTrak is a miniature GPS transponder that not only transmits a pager warning if the location changes, it also allows you to track the cars location on your PC. It's like LoJack on steroids.

It's not cheap and there's a monthly/annual fee for some of the services. Check out their website.
