Default Exhaust?

i am in the process of installing new headers on my 68 coupe and when im done with that i was wondering what direction to go with exhuast, im looking for that authentic muscle car sound, not the annoying purring the ricers all have. my dad keeps touting thrush glasspacks (back in the day on my 56 chevy blah blah) but i wanna know what you mustang guys like

Your Dad's right (isn't he always?). Glasspacks will surely wake up the neighbors and likely scare all but the bravest of ricers away. If not the glasspacks,Flowmaster 2 chambers or even 3 chambers should be what you're looking for.

Checkout the cherrybombs, dynamax, and the magnaflows they will keep you busy and also help to make a decision.

I dont care for the sound of a busted up Chevy(glasspacks). I like either the Spin Tech or Flowmasters(without the drone)

when I bought my car, the p.o had a set of cherry bombs on there. When I re did the exhaust I went with some flow master 40's.

I honestly think the flow master were louder, but the cherry bombs has a wide open sound to them. Its all preference, people will argue this till days end. Most manufactures have sound clips of their systems so find a sound for YOU!

I'm pretty sure I have posted this before in the thread about glasspacks but I will gladly post it again.

I have dumped glasspacks with some new tri-y's about to go on and right now it is the defining sound of my life. It makes the car sound so mean and like dave said any ricer wouldnt dare try and race you. There are a few around here that think they have the fastest car in town but next to me at a stoplight they will not even look at me. So IMO glasspacks FTW but it is up to you.

Think about the kind of sound you want to produce with your car/ your sound and cars desired impact on the people that see it. Being a teenager I want my car to sound like a bad@$$ so of course I stuck with the glasspacks.
