Where are the rear brake hoses?
I have a 65 Mustang with a V8. My rear brake hoses are the metal lines that are secured to the rear axle. There are no rubber brake hoses. It looks stock, non-modified. Is this normal? Thanks.
Yes, metal lines were used for just about everthing on these old cars.
The rear brake hose is a flexible rubber hose that connects to a "T" fitting on the rear axle. From the rear axle it routes upward and forward whereupon it connects to the hard line that terminates on the transition pan.
Unlike the front, the rear only has one flexible brake line. The front has one for each disc/drum.

Look for the distribution DaveSanborn mentioned just to the left of your pumpkin (looking from the rear of the car). The rubber hose allows your suspension to flex without kinking the brake hose. This is very necessary. However, from the block, the lines will be metal out to the cylinders.
