Default rear brake hoses?

I have two hoses connecting to the rear brake line junction box. One of the hoses is split in half, but the back brakes are still working. What is this hose? Is it anything i need, because evidently the other hose is supplying the fluid.

A hose? or the sleeve for the parking brake cable?

Does that connect to the brake line junction box too? It looks like a hose.

maybe your car is different than mine. There two hoses, one for each (d/p) side. Not sure if that is what you mean.

Here is a 1966 diagram

The hose comes out of the top of the junction box. It's not a high pressure hose, it's clamped on there. It goes into the body, through a grommet and stops there, because i pulled it out of the hole. It doesn't look broke so i believe it ends right there. Evidently it's not that important but i still would like to know what it is. Thanks

So, let me get this straight. You have the hose coming from the master cylinder (pressure differential valve) into the junction, two hard lines from the junction to each side, plus another hose?

DSM had a possible answer in your other post

ORIGINAL: DSMtuner

It could have corroded so bad it sealed itself with rust, or got pinched. The rear hard brake line should meet a soft line, which has a T at the end. That then splits into drivers and passenger rear brake (hard) lines, with a rear axle breather hose going through it and holding it on.

Im sorry, i was vague, The junction box on the rear axle. It has two rubber hoses coming off it. The hose im talking about clamps on a nipple on the top of it. OH, Could it be the axle breather? THATS probably what it is. Because the hose just ends at a certain point. Thanks for all your help

What he said.

The rear distribution block bolts to the rear axle with a hollow bolt. Axle vent clamps on top of the nipple on that bolt
