i don't mean to pinch a nerve with anyone, but why does the 69 mustang have a backwards-looking scoop?

i've seen them reversed and it looks better to me. i just never got used to it. it looks wrong and out of place.

again, i'm not attacking anyone, just curious as to why it is so.

 

Just what ford did to the coupes. Just a different style I suppose

 

Its probably backwards because it isn't a scoop and just a visual accent. Look fine to me, and besides, after going down the highway, would you want to wipe the smooth end off if it were on correctly, or clean out all the little grooves if it were on backward?
