Default ride height

Hi, I have a 70 fastback with 14” wheels, my problem is I changed the front springs and it seems that the front end is setting too height. I can see at least 4 inches between the top of tire and the fender well opening. Can someone tell me the proper height from the top of fender to the ground? I got the springs from NPD and they said that they were rated for a 302 with A/C but it doesn’t appear so. If someone knows what spring I could order I would very much appreciate it.

It takes a little bit for the springs to break in. So it will sit high and slowly go back down as they get broken in.

I would imagine that your old ones where sagging too, so the new ones look higher. Along with the break in period.

On my 72 the front height for driver is 25 3/4 and the passenger is 26. I replaced the springs and shocks along with all of suspension hardware last fall. The car has not been on the road much so I dont know if the springs will 'break' in while its sitting in the garage but it seems lower just from driving impressions then last December when I drove it.

They were supposed to be stock spring rates and at first the car looked front high and this was with a 1" lift for the rear springs, I did not like the *** sag look on the Mach I.
