After market shifter
I'm assuming you have a manual since you have 'shifting problems.' What problems? There's nothing drastically wrong with a properly working stock shifter. If your problem is a loose feel and rattling, you may want to try to rebuild your stock shifter first. It's cheap, very easy, and usually tightens up the shifter a fair amount. If your problem is not being able to get in and out of gears properly, you probably need to readjust the linkage.

The b&m star shifter is for an automatic. I have had friends that used this shifter because it is a ratchet style and you can "manually" bang through the gears. If you do decide to use this shifter I would go for the shorter base model. Not the standard height model. I think the tall base plate model sits too high. That is just a personal preference though.
Ok I should have been more clear I don't have shifting problems I have a linkage problem. It is an automatic. the Tranny and the shifter don't "line" up. So I am thinking of installing a custom one because of this. They use a cable instead of a linkage rod.
