Default Junkyard Console

Thinking about changing my mind on the console. I fabbed one out of steel and it looks good and fits great but the other day I was junk hunting and ran across this. I think the fit is almost perfacto and the E-brake handle with the cables is on top of the hump like I had planned, arm rest and drink holders and some storage. So I think I will opt for this insted of the DD I built out of steed. So, whats your vote?
The first one....

the new console is massive, but practicable.
Since you have the oval in the top you seem to be fabricating the middle one for gauges.
I personally loved your original one. Just not the way it was sitting on the trans tunnel.
basically the upper two steps.
have a hard time making up my mind on this one. I'm not a fan of plastic, so it weould be a great deal different if it was upholstered matching the interior, or just the brute look of the metal thingie ...

i know I'm not helping ... if in any case you leave in the new console either make sure it's not that 90s mouse grey or see if you can upholster it .... i couldn't do it myself but maybe you can ...

I think its out of a Satern. I can paint it semi black to match. It fits the car with less than 1/4 clearance under the stock dash without the din2 and looks great. The gearshift handle is not attached in the photo but will fit very nice. Their is a heavy metal support for the armrest and once it is attached will be very solid. More that likely thats the one I will use. The center arm rest is nice. I will take a look at the car again that its out of when I get back to the junkyard.

I really like the way the second one looks and fits. I too would like to know what car it came off so if you could let us know thanks. I think the first one will have an angle to high for you to see the screen when it is playing. I would think a little less slanted.

I think the second one looks awesome in there. You did such a good job on the first one but the second you may be able to pass-off as part of the car better then the first.

that second one looks great. my big complaint about newer mustang consoles are the cup holders. both my 95 and my parents 98 mustangs have horrible cup holder locations. that one looks great and it looks pretty good for a modern classic.
