Default Project Update, 65 Fastback

Received my Pony Carbs rebuild and finnaly got it running right. Had problems with the carb, fuel was pouring out of the vent when the choke opened all the way, played with float settings, cleaned the needle valvue and seat 4 or 5 times before checking fuel pump pressure. Well turns out it was at 7+ psi which is way too high. I put the old pump back on and it was pumping at 4.5 psi which is perfect. Did all the carb tuning and timming setting using a vaccum gauge. I tested it at the manifold and it is now pulling 18.5 in of vaccum. Next I need to regap the plugs and then the body and frame work is going to start.

My father builds log furniture and a client of his is a mustang parts dealer through Ford. They worked out a trade for all parts needed to complete both mine and his 64.5 I6 Mustang.

Should be getting a five lug front disc brake kit and a new 8in. 5 lug rear end soon. I am also getting a Pertronix electronic ignition and coil. We are taking it all the way down, replace a frame rail or two, and do all the body work and paint ourselves. We are set up for finishing with furiture, so we are going to try our luck at car painting. I am 15 now and wanting to have it done by my 16th birthday next August. My dad bought me the 6 Cylinder Performance Handbook and it has been very helpful. Now for the pics.

What gears are you going to put in the 8in? Are you using the 6cyl spindle 5 lug kit or the v8 spindle 5 lug kit?

#1 factory stock, #2 I6's are nearly impossible to destroy, and #3 they make enough power to do anything it needs to. And i'm woopin everyone with a V8 in gas milage, thats why.

here ill trade you my coupe and you can put that cute little I6 in there...

a fb deserves a fat, loud, powerful, neighbor irritating, girlfriend impressing, ricer intimidating V8...imo of course

by "anything it needs to" do you include beating a 2008 honda civic off the line at a stoplight?

to tell you the truth i didn't even realize they put I6s in the fb body and now that i know that they did, i am thoroughly disappointed

I thought about buying a 67 FB with an I6. By the end of next year, I will be whipping V8 butt around my area. They will be like "what is in there a 302". I'll be like "nope just an I6." Then watch their jaw drop.

Hey Jonward, my car can and will destroy a civic off the line, inlines make better lowend tourqe because of their in-line configuration.
BA, when my car is done and paid for, I willbuilt up the motor some, not make it wild, but wake it up some.

I'm making mine wild. I own my coupe, all I have to do is get it approved by my dad.

I'm not wanting to go wild, but somewhere between mild and wild. I will own mine by the end of the year.
