I used one for a '74 Maverick for my GT with front discs and rear drums for about $20.00. The rod was a hair long so I used a washer for a spacer. Yes you should get a new proportioning valve.

I have a factory single MC that I just took off my '65. You are welcome to it

65rangoon dual mc are much safer if something happens and you get a leak or whatever you loose everything with a single bowl.....but if you have a dual you'll only loose the front or the back brakes so you still have a little something to stop with.

I had a Chevy MC on my 69 when I bought it from a 55-57 Chevy (according to the date code). I can tell you I left black marks idling into my garage with it.

Now I have a dual MC and a few other items that have been fixed (work in progress) and hope to be able to drive my car soon.

+1 on the '74 Maverick MC

You won't need a proportioning valve until you put the disc brakes on. What you have now is a distribution block, and you can use that with the dual MC. You just have to buy some lines and a plug. Do yourself a favor and bring the MC to NAPA to get the right sizes.

Plumb the back brake line directly to the front bowl on the MC.
Plug the hole on the distribution block where that line used to go. That takes care of the rear brakes.

Plumb the rear bowl on the MC to the distribution block where the single line from the old MC attached. This takes care of the front brakes.

That's it. Now when you go to front discs things will change.

I just ordered a dual m/c for my '65 from CJ Pony Parts.
New m/c and the pre bent lines -- $54.95

ahh makes sense, i was forgetting that each bowl would operate front only/rear only.
