Default 358 or 408?

with winter coming and race season ending saturday haha. im wondering what would be cheap and more efficiant(not sure if thats the right word) but basicly better way to go. would be a 408 from say, scat or propower be better than building a 358 with reonditioned rods, new pistons, bored etc etc? it seems that a stoker kit will only cost about 2-300 more over the 358. i also plan on using the aussie cleveland heads.. which will last longer?
thanks. hopefully ill be able to make and post more progress once im done with race season and workin on that everyday...

One issue you will face when stepping up from a 350 or 358 to a 408 is you will need different heads for optimum performance. 350ish CID engines need about 185cc intake runner while a 408 will need about 210-215cc. I am not familar with the specs on the Aussie heads, but you should probably look into that regardless of which direction you take. If you get the wrong size runners for the CID you are building, your flow is going to be terrible.
