Depends on what your goals are, and what you're starting with. If you need to replace the entire rotating assembly and have the cylinders bored, then costs will be about the same.

If you're building a car that power is more important than anything else, go with the cubes. There's no replacement for displacement; you can't beat cubes.

The down side of more cubes is that it takes more fuel to run. If the rest of the drive line (transmission, driveshaft, diff) is a little weak, you'll be spending more money to upgrade. Depending on the car you're starting with, you might have to upgrade the fuel system; $$$.

As long as you shoose your parts carefully and assemble carefully, longevity will be the same between the two.

well a 358 would just be a 351 bored to like .03 or .04 over, correct? I think i calculated mine out to a 358 or something close.

With that being said if you're just going stock I'd assume that would be cheaper, and would last long since it has shorter rods. However if you are looking for gobs of power, you might as well stroke it for not much more $$$

I LOVE MY 408 FTW!!!!!!

I am not sure on the differences in cost or particular power but, I can tell you that having mine is a complete blast. The engine has power and makes the drive completely worth it. The cost can be relatively high for a beefed up 408 but it is only relative to your budget. I know the next engine JMD is building will be a 408.

You would not be disappointed with it... Any real specific questions about the engine itself?

Anyone know anything about this vendor? Does the price seem right depending on the packages offered?

Thanks
