Default Any value

I purchased two new front fenders for my 68, because i didn't feel like dealing with the repairs that the orignal ones needed. My question is, do the orignal ones have any value or should I just junk them? They don't have any dents, but there is rust on both lower rears and some rust-through in behind where the headlight bucket is. There is also at least 3 layers of old paint, etc.

Thanks,
Jeff

I wouldnt Junk them ,I'd hold on to them ...just in case you get in a fender bender. If you dont have room to store them im sure if you post here or in the parts section someone would snap them up.

I was in the exact same situation when I redid my 66. I sold the old ones on craigslist last year to a bodyman that was restoring his own car. I think I got about $150 for the pair.

Keep them. Many times repos don't fit well. Often it will be cheaper to repair the originals that fit well than to make the repos fit (i.e. less time =less labor cost). Also, did you by foreign made repos of Ford Tooling? The cheeper ones often don't fit as well. I bought a pair for my 67 and returned them for the Ford Tooling. If all goes well with your repos, the opriginals are worth something to someone. Put em up on ebay.

Good luck,
