Default Sweet burn haha

WELL, today was supposed to be the day. Engine installed and running just doing some tuning and I was supposed to be off and running. NOT SO. I was in the back of the car doing the good ol exhaust sniff test. When I came back to the front of the car, someone pointed out that I had some oil bouncing out of the valve cover opening since I hadn't put the breather back in. AS SOON as I bent over the front of the car BOOM, and I was burning. I had no clue what had happened it happened so fast. I ripped my shirt off and ran to the shower at the auto hobby shop on base. They called the paramedics who came and treated me and took me to the ER room for further treatment. I have 1 and 2nd degree burns over 27% of my body, which equates to the whole front of my chest and stomach and my arms. Come to find out my upper radiator hose blew off. I KNOW for a fact that thing was tight. My guess is that I didn't bleed the coolant system so the air bubble worked itself out and blew it off. I got 4 things of morphine haha, and now I was put on narcotics for pain. Can't wait for it to wear off so I can feel the pain of burns again.

double clamp that **** on both ends, and also put a clamp in the middle (not to where it clamps down, just to where it wont move around) so the spring cant move if it ever overheats. the hose will expand, causing the spring to go into the radiator and then the hose will collapse causeing the engine to overheat even worse then you have problems. and the clamp in the middle will make it so the spring cant move. and the double clamps on both ends keep the hose on......

Man, glad you are ok. Wow.

Any tips you more experienced people have about hose safety, I am all ears and relatively new to this.

My rad hose doesn't have a spring in it, but I think the double clamp is going on tomorrow, but I'm not sure what it is. And a popped head gasket? Can I get a little more info on this and how it would cause it? But yeah I have the silvedyne, but also got three different pain killers, along with 10mg, I think mg, of morphine on the ambulance ride, and 10 more at the hospital. I'm going to be fine though, maybe just some slight scars. As far as the other guy, he's ok, he got just a little splash but nothing major, just a couple drops. The hose blew the opposite way from him and I took the majority of it as I was right over it.
