When you say "factory shop manual", which one? I see:

64-1/2 Mustang Shop Service Repair Manual supplement by Ford to supplement the 1964 Falcon Shop Manual (645_MP0027) $14.95
65 Mustang Fairlane Falcon & Comet Shop manual for Ford mid-size cars (65_101892N) $49.95
65-68 Ford Mustang Shop Service Repair Manual by Chilton (665_C5352) $39.95
64-73 Mustang & Cougar: Large Format shop service repair Manual for Ford & Mercury by Chiltons (68_26600) $24.95
65-73 Mustang Shop Service Repair Manual by Chiltons covers all models (69_6542) $24.95
65-73 Mustang V8 Autobooks shop manual (69_819) $44.95
64-73 Mustang Shop Service Repair Manual by Clymers (70_A167) $32.95

Is it one of these?

+1 on the factory manual. Also if you are going to be rebuilding the motor anytime soon. Tom Monroe's "How to rebuild your small block Ford" is an excellent book. The shop manual and TM's book are the only ones I have used over the past twenty years or so. They show it too.

true that, the actual hardcopy is the only way to go.

I work with computers daily and i cannot stand searching through a manual on the comp lol. i gotta print it out and read it haha

That and you can put tabs on where certain things are at so its really easy to just flip to a page

I agree as well. Sometimes, a hard copy on a bench is the only way to go. Tabs are a great thing, too.

Plus do you really want your computer looking as dirty as your engine? Not me.

So what happens when your only paper copy gets that dirty?

(I did suggest to print out hardcopies of pages as anticipated)
With the CD-ROM version you can print out only the pages you need

Why not buy the CD and then print the entire thing, I would suggest printing it at the office if I wasn't worried about my boss looking over my shoulder virtually...LOL!

Get a note book then you have a copy on the workbench and if it gets messed up you could simply reprint it in whole or part.

this is why you find a girl that likes cars and has no problem hanging out in the garage helping you.

She keeps her hands clean by handing you tools & beer and flipping through the book and you enjoy working on the car.

even if im flipping through ill just wipe my hands good and then flip through. They can be dirty but as long as you have the loose stuff off it doesnt really smudge the pages.

Well that and you only touch the corner of the page anyway while flipping through. Not sure how youd get smudges all over the page.
